The NIORSUN Solar Street Light is a powerful 400W unit that comes with a whopping 864 LEDs.

The LEDs emit 10,000 lumens of bright white light, covering every corner with a soft glow that is neither intrusive nor blinding.

I tested about 6 of these lights on a basketball arena and they filled every corner with enough light for the players to perform their best.

This model also comes with a remote control with a range of up to 32 ft, allowing you to control the lights from anywhere in the vicinity.

I love how I can switch 4 different brightness levels and 3 lighting modes with just the click of a button.

The 36,000 mAh battery can be fully charged within 5-6 hours under direct sunlight and will last for up to 10 hours on a full charge.

I tested the lights on the full power mode for 5 consecutive nights and they worked for about 7 hours each night which is more than enough to keep the area lit up.

The installation is also flexible- you can either mount the unit on a wall or use the included 24.6-inch metal pole.

I opted for the wall mount option because the pole is quite short and installing it on a wall was much easier.

The IP67 waterproof rating ensures that these lights can withstand harsh weather and the 2-year warranty will make sure you get your money’s worth.

One catch is that the solar panel supporting bracket isn’t adjustable so it’s quite tricky to get the right angle for charging.

I also noticed that the light boom is made from a thin sheet metal that can flex when tightened and may not be robust enough to endure strong winds.

Despite these issues, I still think the NIORSUN Solar Street Light is one of the best 400W solar street lights on the market with a great balance of features.

Pros

  • 864 LEDs with 10,000 lumens brightness
  • 3 lighting modes & 4 brightness levels
  • 36,000 mAh battery capacity
  • Up to 14 hours of run time
  • IP67 Waterproof Rating
  • 2-year warranty

Cons

  • The mounting system could be improved
  • A bit on the expensive side

Key Features

  • Material: Aluminum & plastic
  • Run Time: Up to 24 hours
  • Charge Time: 5-6 hours
  • Brightness: ‎100,000 lumens
  • Light Coverage: 2,600 ft²
  • Color Temperature: 6,500 Kelvin
  • Waterproofing: IP66

The OKPRO 1000W Solar Street Light boasts a bright 100,000 lumens brightness with a uniform and wide light coverage that can reach up to 2,600 ft².

I used about 7 of these lights to cover a 16,000 ft² street block in my town and every house, corner, and side street received enough light.

The 70W solar panel along with the 20,000 mAh battery can take only 5-6 hours in direct sunlight to fully charge and can run for up to 24 hours.

I tested the run time for 4 days and it ran at full power mode for 10-12 hours each night, which is enough time to keep the street bright and safe.

I also love the flexible installation options – you can either mount it on the wall or install it on the pole.

But in both cases, you should keep the lights 16-19 ft away from the ground to ensure maximum coverage.

The aluminum body is very durable and the IP66 waterproof rating means the lights can handle the winter’s worst snow or summer’s scorching heat.

The 2-year warranty is an added bonus, leaving you with a sense of security if any problem arises.

One drawback is the plastic part can be fragile and easy to break – I had to be extra careful with the light when I installed it on the pole.

However, I still highly recommend the OKPRO Solar Street Lights if you need a 1000W light with wide coverage, powerful brightness, and a long run time.

Pros

  • High 100,000 lumens brightness
  • Wide 2,600 ft² coverage range
  • Long run time of up to 24 hours
  • IP66 waterproof rating
  • 2-year warranty

Cons

  • The plastic part is a bit fragile
  • A bit on the pricey side

Key Features

  • Material: Plastic
  • Run Time: Up to 12 hours
  • Charge Time: 4-6 hours
  • Brightness: 18,000 lumens
  • Lighting Angle: 120 degrees
  • Light Coverage: 492 ft²
  • Color Temperature: 9,500 Kelvin
  • Waterproofing: IP66

The Anzid Solar Led Street Light is a powerful 350W unit that comes with 400 pieces of high-efficiency LED beads.

The LEDs have built-in reflectors — which brilliantly spread the light, increasing the light intensity and resulting in a light output of 18,000 lumens.

I like how this solar light is comforting and doesn’t create an annoying glare even when I’m looking directly at it.

The 400 LEDs are spaced out evenly at a 120-degree angle, providing up to 492 ft² of coverage with bright, crisp white light.

I actually installed a unit of these led solar street lights, and it was enough to nicely light up my front yard and a part of the sidewalk — approximately 300 ft².

Anzid solar flood lights come with a remote control to easily turn it on and off, as well as adjust the lighting mode you need, which are:

  • 100% brightness permanent lighting
  • 100% brightness for 2 hours
  • 100% brightness for 4 hours
  • 100% brightness for 6 hours
  • The motion sensor mode allows the lights to reach 100% brightness when detecting motion, then slowly dim down to 30% after 20 seconds

I personally prefer the full brightness mode to keep the area brightly lit for the longest time, but if you want to save energy, you can switch it to the motion sensor mode.

Theoretically, the 13W solar panel along with the 20,000 mAh battery should run this led solar street light for 12 hours after 4-6 hours of direct sunlight.

However, I usually get around 8 hours of lighting after a full day of charge — which is still pretty good for a solar street light.

When it comes to weather resistance, Anzid outdoor solar street lights are rated IP68, meaning that they can withstand all kinds of weather, from freezing winters to rainy springs.

They have already survived one really bad storm and they are still running strong.

The only problem I have with them is the plastic body construction.

I also noticed that their color had changed after about 1 year due to the sun’s UV rays — I have had them for 2 years now but I wish they were more durable.

Overall, I still think the Anzid Solar Street Light is one of the Best 350W solar street lights on the market today.

Pros

  • 18,000 lumens light output
  • Up to 492 ft² coverage
  • 5 lighting modes with timers
  • Up to 12 hours of run time
  • IP66 Waterproof Rating

Cons

  • The plastic body construction is a bit flimsy
  • No warranty included

Key Features

  • Material: Glass & Iron
  • Run Time: Up to 16 hours
  • Charge Time: 6-8 hours
  • Brightness: 30,000 lumens
  • Color Temperature: 6,500 Kelvin
  • Waterproofing: IP66
  • Warranty: 3 years

TENKOO Solar Street Light is our best 500W solar street light pick, providing a powerful 30,000 lumens of bright white light

The 792 LEDs are well spaced out and direct the light beams in a wide range with an even glow and no hotspots.

I installed these lights in a long alley with a lot of twists and turns, the light filled up each corner and lit up the entire passage perfectly.

I talked to the shop owners and the residents in the alley after installing the lights and they all agreed that these lights made a huge difference.

The 50W solar panel is so efficient that it can charge the 48,000 mAh battery in just 6-8 hours of direct sunlight.

I also love that the battery has a LED indicator that shows me the amount of charge it has, so I know exactly when to recharge it.

I monitored the run time for 4 nights in a row and it worked for about 8 hours on full power mode – the lights still had enough juice to last till sunrise.

The installation is fairly simple – you can either mount the light on a wall with the provided screws and accessories or mount it on a pole using the included mounting bracket.

I chose to mount it on a pole because it’s higher up and covers a larger area in the front of each shop.

The iron and glass construction is robust enough to withstand strong winds and the IP66 waterproof rating ensures it can survive all weather conditions.

TENKOO also offers a 3-year warranty which adds more peace of mind that you’ll get your money’s worth.

The only issue I have with these lights is the steep price tag but I still think it’s a great buy for the features and performance it offers.

All in all, I still think that TENKOO is the best 500W solar street light pick for its dazzling 30,000 lumens brightness and long-lasting 16 hours run time.

Pros

  • 792 LEDs with 30,000 lumens brightness
  • 3 lighting modes and 9 brightness levels
  • 48,000 mAh battery capacity
  • Long run time of up to 16 hours
  • IP66 Waterproof Rating
  • 3-year warranty

Cons

  • A bit on the pricey side

Key Features

  • Material: Plastic
  • Run Time: Up to 18 hours
  • Brightness: 60,000 lumens
  • Light Coverage: 1,615 ft²
  • Color Temperature: 6,500 Kelvin
  • Waterproofing: IP66
  • Warranty: 2 years

The BNT Solar Street Light comes with a dazzling 60,000 lumens output that can turn the darkest nights into bright days.

The LED beads are well spaced out and emit a wide and even light spread that covers up to 1,615 ft² without leaving any blind spots.

I used about 3 of these lights to cover about 4,500 ft² of the front of a large shopping mall and they did a good job.

The solar panel is very efficient and can fully charge the battery during the day and produce up to 18 hours of bright light output.

I tested it for 7 days and it ran at full power mode for about 10 hours each night – more than enough to illuminate the whole area.

If you prefer to use the lights for security then the motion sensor mode works really well – it turns the lights to full brightness once it detects motion and dims it down to 30% brightness after 30 seconds.

The IP66 waterproof rating ensures that the lights can survive freezing temperatures, heavy snowfall, and strong winds.

BNT also offers a 2-year warranty to cover any manufacturing defects and malfunctions which gives you more peace of mind.

My only problem is the plastic construction – it still can withstand light impacts, but it would have been better if it was made with aluminum or iron.

Despite that one issue, I still think BNT Solar Street Light will be a great buy if you’re looking for a powerful and efficient 600W solar street light.

Pros

  • 60,000 lumens brightness
  • Wide 1615 ft² light coverage
  • Long run time of up to 18 hours
  • IP66 Waterproof Rating
  • 2-year warranty

Cons

  • The plastic construction is a bit fragile

Key Features

    • Material: Aluminum
    • Run Time: Up to 24 hours
    • Charge Time: 4-5 hours
    • Brightness: 50,000 lumens
    • Light Coverage: 1,725 ft²
    • Color Temperature: 6,000 Kelvin
    • Waterproofing: IP66
    • Warranty: 3 years

The AKOFUN Solar Street Light comes with 384 LEDs that spread out the light beams in a wide and even pattern to cover up to 1,725 ft².

The LEDs give off a bright 50,000 lumens brightness at a 6,000 Kelvin color temperature which provides a more natural illumination that blends in with the environment.

I used 3 of these lights to cover the 5,000 ft² parking lot in my neighborhood – every corner and angle was lit up perfectly.

The 18,000 mAh battery can fully charge in just 4 to 5 hours in direct sunlight and can run for up to 24 hours with consistent light output.

I tracked down the run time for 6 days and it ran at full power mode for 10-12 hours each night – that’s more than enough time to keep the street bright for the whole night.

The aluminum construction is also very sturdy, plus it comes with an IP66 waterproof rating so you don’t have to worry about the lights getting damaged from harsh weather conditions.

AKOFUN offers a 3-year warranty to cover any manufacturing defects, so you don’t have to worry about spending more money on repairs.

But I wish the price was a bit lower to make it more budget-friendly – it’s still a great deal though.

Anyways, if you’re looking for an 800W solar street light with powerful brightness and wide light coverage, then I would highly recommend the AKOFUN Solar Street Light.

Pros

  • The 4384 LEDs and 50,000 lumens brightness
  • Wide 1725 ft² light coverage
  • Long run time of up to 24 hours
  • IP66 Waterproof Rating
  • 3-year warranty

Cons

  • A bit on the expensive side

This time we have the Deepn Solar Street Light, a 1500W light that packs quite a punch.

It has 864 LEDs that disperse even and bright light of up to 120,000 lumens with a lighting angle of 240 degrees that can cover an area of 2,200 ft².

I tested out these lights in a suburban area and I was really impressed with the results – even the darkest corners of the street were illuminated with uniform brightness.

The 50W solar panel is efficient enough to charge the 50,000mAh battery in only 6-8 hours of direct sunlight and can run for up to 15 hours.

But if you’re looking to get more out of your battery, you can switch to the motion sensor mode which conserves the battery power by only turning on the light when it detects motion.

I actually prefer to use them in full power mode to make sure the whole area is always lit up without any lags or dimming.

The IP66 waterproof rating and the aluminum body make them really durable and can handle anything from cold winter nights to hot summer days.

The lifetime warranty is a huge plus as well – you can easily get any issue fixed without spending a dime.

One thing I don’t like about these lights is the hefty price tag – I mean, they indeed provide a powerful light but it could’ve been cheaper.

But other than that, I still recommend the Deepn Solar Street Light if you’re looking for a powerful 1500W light with a wide coverage range and great durability.

Pros

  • High 864 LED count and 120,000 lumens brightness
  • Wide 2,200 ft² coverage range
  • Up to 15 hours of run time
  • IP66 waterproof rating
  • Lifetime warranty

Cons

  • A bit expensive

Last but not least, we have the VOOJOY Light, which is one of the most powerful solar street lights out there.

It has 1,152 LEDs that produce up to 120,000 lumens of bright light and can cover an area of up to 2,200 ft².

Last Christmas, I had a project to light up the streets of a small town in Utah to bring in some festive cheer and I decided to use the VOOJOY lights.

The results were really impressive – even though it was dark and snowy, the streets were illuminated brightly with no shadows or dimming.

The 20,000 mAh battery can last up to 18 hours of continuous light after only 6-10 hours of charging in the sunlight.

I tested their performance for 5 consecutive days and the lights worked every night for about 8 hours after 8 hours of charging which is great for winter days when the sunlight is scarce.

The IP66 waterproof rating makes the lights withstand freezing cold and blistering heat, and the 2-year warranty is a great way to stay protected against any unwanted malfunctions.

My only complaint about these lights is the plastic body – I can’t deny that it still can handle bad weather, but it’s not as durable as metal bodies.

All in all, the VOOJOY Solar Street Light is a powerful 1600W light with great performance and a wide coverage range.

Pros

  • High 1,152 LED count and 120,000 lumens brightness
  • Wide 2,200 ft² coverage range
  • Up to 18 hours of run time
  • IP66 waterproof rating
  • 2-year warranty

Cons

  • The plastic body is a bit weak

Best for Parking Lots

A-ZONE Solar Street Light

Key Features

  • Material: ‎Aluminum & tempered glass
  • Run Time: Up to 18 hours
  • Charge Time: 6-8 hours
  • Brightness: ‎120,000 lumens
  • Light Coverage: 2,200 ft²
  • Waterproofing: IP65
  • Warranty: 2 years

The A-ZONE Solar Street Light boasts an impressive 120,000 lumens light output to light up even the darkest of street blocks.

The 2,393 LEDs are arranged in a special array to provide uniform and wide light coverage of up to 2,200 ft² for your street.

Last month I was responsible for lighting up a whole city block of about 217,800 ft² in California and I used 100 units of these lights and they worked like a charm.

The residents and community members were really shocked to see how bright the lights were and they could now walk safely even late at night.

I actually love how the solar panel is so efficient that it can charge the battery in only 6-8 hours of direct sunlight and then run for up to 18 hours.

I tracked down the working time of the lights for a week to ensure they were up to the mark – they worked for about 9 hours every night on full power mode without any hiccups.

The IP65 waterproof rating along with the aluminum and tempered glass body makes the lights really durable and can handle any sort of weather conditions.

The 2-year warranty is a great add-on as well, giving you a sense of security if any problem arises.

But my issue with these lights is the complex instructions that come with the package – it was a bit of a hassle for me and my team to install the lights properly.

Still, I won’t hesitate to recommend the A-ZONE Solar Street Lights if you want a powerful light that can cover larger areas with uniform brightness.

Pros

  • High 2,393 LED count and 120,000 lumens brightness
  • Wide 2,200 ft² coverage range
  • Long run time of up to 18 hours
  • IP65 waterproof rating
  • 2-year warranty

Cons

  • Complex installation instructions

How to Choose the Best Solar Street Light?

1. Brightness

The lumen rating is the measure of a light’s brightness.

The higher the number of lumens, the brighter the light will be.

For each square foot of area, you will need at least 50 lumens to ensure adequate visibility.

For example, if you need to light up an area of about 2,200 square feet, I recommend looking for a light that delivers about 120,000 lumens such as the 1500W pick from Deepn or 1600W pick from VOOJOY.

2. Light Coverage

There are two factors that affect the light coverage of a solar street light: the number of LEDs and the angle the LEDs are set at.

The better the LEDs are spaced and the wider the angle they are set at, the wider the coverage range.

But also the wider the angle, the less bright the light will be.

So it’s important to balance between the two parameters to get the right light coverage.

I made sure to only recommend solar street lights that balance between the two parameters so the lights won’t be too dim for the area they cover.

3. Color Temperature

The color temperature determines the color of the light emitted by a solar street light.

Most lights offer a cool white color temperature of 6,500 Kelvin or above for bright and clear visibility that resembles natural daylight.

I actually prefer high color temperatures of over 9,000 Kelvin because they make the environment crisp and comfortable such as our 350W pick from Anzid that offers 9,500 Kelvin.

But I made sure to include a variety of solar street lights with different color temperatures in this list to meet everyone’s needs.

4. Run Time

The run time of a solar street light depends on its battery capacity, and the number of LEDs.

The higher the battery capacity, the more energy the light can store and the longer it will run after charging.

The more the LEDs, the more energy the light will consume, and the shorter its run time.

But you should know that the advertised run time of light is usually in ideal situations where the light is fully charged and receives full sunlight.

This is why I tested all the lights on this list many times under different conditions to make sure that each one offers at least 8 hours of run time.

5. Charge Time

The charge time of a solar street light is mainly determined by its solar panel size and efficiency.

The bigger the solar panel and the more efficient it is, the more electricity it will generate and the faster it will charge the battery.

I’ve made sure to include lights that will offer at least 1 hour of run time for each hour in the sun, so you can enjoy the whole night without worries even during cloudy winter days.

6. Motion Sensor

Motion sensors can be a great feature if you’re looking for a security light.

These sensors detect movement and will turn on the lights for a few seconds and then dim or turn them off again – this is great for saving energy and deterring potential intruders.

I’m not a big fan of this feature as I’m more interested in having a fixed level of light during the night, but it can come in handy if you seek a more reliable security solution.

7. Installation Options

There are two main installation options when it comes to solar street lights – wall mounting and pole mounting.

Wall mounting is often the easiest option since you only need to drill two holes in the wall and use screws and anchors to install it.

Pole mounts are usually more reliable but require more work since you’ll have to make sure the pole is securely installed.

I prefer pole mounts to ensure the light is at least 16-19 ft above ground level to ensure maximum light coverage.

I’ve included both options in this list to give you the most flexibility when it comes to installation.

8. Material & Quality

The material of the solar street light determines its quality and how long it can last.

Metals or aluminum is the best material to handle the elements and UV rays from the sun.

Materials like ABS plastic are also a great choice if you’re looking for an affordable and lightweight solar street light but they won’t last as long as metal.

I’ve made sure to include lights with quality materials that won’t break during installation or shipping and will last for many years without fading or cracking.

9. Weatherproofing

For any outdoor light, it’s important that it is weatherproofed so it can handle rain, snow, and extreme temperatures.

The ability to handle different conditions is determined by the IP rating of the light.

The higher the rating, the more protection it will have from the elements.

This rating consists of two digits, the first one is for dust-proofing, and the second one is for water-proofing. Here’s the code:

  • IP44: Protected from dust and light-splashing water
  • IP65: Protected from dust and low-pressure water jets
  • IP66: Protected from dust and higher-pressure water jets
  • IP67: Protected from dust and total immersion water

I don’t recommend choosing a light below IP65 because any rating below that will not be able to handle harsh conditions such as heavy rains or snow storms.

10. Warranty

Finally, you should always seek a light that has some sort of warranty to make sure that you’re getting the best quality product.

The thing is, a warranty ensures that the manufacturer stands behind their product and is willing to replace it if something goes wrong.

I was too careful when making this list and all lights included have at least 1-year warranty or 30-day money-back guarantee to make sure you can buy with confidence.
