Best Solar Spot Lights Review

It’s not hard to see why outdoor solar lighting is the trend nowadays.

Of course, it’s great that you don’t have to pay for electricity, but what’s more important for most folks is the fact that you don’t need to install any wiring.

Take the light out of the box, flip the switch, put it beside your walkway or in your garden, and you’re all done.

Further, all solar lights have a built-in darkness sensor, which allows them to automatically turn on at night and off at dawn.

In other words, all you need to do is to install the lights and they will do the rest.

The problem is because the solar lights industry is extremely competitive, it can be pretty hard to figure out what is the best solar spotlight in the market.

Therefore, in this article, we have done the research and brought you the 7 best solar powered spotlights in the 2022 market.

So without further ado, Let’s jump right into the review.

Best Solar Spotlights

Best Solar Spotlights Selection

We spend hours researching, testing, and comparing different solar lights, so we can provide you with the best options on the market.

All solar lights reviewed in this list are manufactured by trusted companies, made with high-quality materials, energy-efficient, guaranteed high customer satisfaction, and of course, well priced.

1. Litom Solar Landscape Spot Light

LITOM 12 LEDs Solar Landscape Spotlights, IP67 Waterproof Solar Powered Wall Lights 2-in-1 Wireless Outdoor Solar Landscaping Lights for Yard Garden Driveway Porch Walkway Pool Patio 2 Pack Cold White

The Litiom solar powered spotlight is the most deserving of the first place among the best outdoor landscape lighting; it looks premium and acts in such a manner.

With 600 lumens, they are surely one of the brightest solar landscape lights, and the money you put into them is counted as an investment.

They are super bright and offer 2 lighting modes that you can change according to your needs; one is a calm dim light that offers a soothing and relaxing atmosphere, and the other is a high brightness mode that is perfect for highlighting areas.

Not only that you can stake them to the ground, but you can also attach them to walls and fences to work as security lights, you can get pretty creative with how you use the Litiom solar spot lights.

Litiom lights come with one of the highest waterproofing technologies; IP67. So you never need to worry about harsh weather or sudden changes, they will prevail it.

They can run up to 12 hours easily, thus making it for almost half a day of purely free high-intensity light, and they only need to charge for about 5 hours, so it’s an optimal ratio between charge time and running time in my opinion.

Sadly, those outdoor solar spot lights don’t come with a warranty but don’t worry they come with a 30-day return, and a very kind and eager to help customer service.

Pros

  • IP67 water and weatherproof
  • Up to 12 hours of continuous lighting
  • 600 lumens
  • 2 Lighting Modes

Cons

  • No warranty, only a 30-day return policy

2. Urpower Solar Outdoor LED Spot Light

URPOWER Solar Lights Outdoor, Adjustable Solar Spot Lights Outdoor, 2-in-1 Waterproof Solar Landscape Spotlights Wall Light, Dusk-to-Dawn Solar Powered Outdoor Light for Garden, Yard, Pathway (2 Pack)

The second on our list is the well-known Urpower solar landscape spot lights, they are a great alternative to the previous solar lights.

They look great, and the fact that you can separately rotate the solar panel is a pretty decent extra, especially if you get a lot of shadows.

Urpower solar lights also come with 2 lighting modes that you can easily switch between them when you feel like it.

The Urpower solar lights are manufactured with IP64 waterproofing and while it may not be the highest by today’s standards, it will surely suffice if you live in a calm weather area that doesn’t get a lot of rain.

In lighting terms, these babies can run for up to 9 hours which is more than enough, but they will also need about 5 hours to fully charge, which is a decent run/charge ratio in my opinion.

The last two things to notice are that they have a light intensity of 200 lumens, which is the third of the prior product, you can opt for solar lights with higher lumens if you need it, but in my case, I find 200 lumens pretty suitable for me.

Finally, Urpower offers no warranty, but it should be no big deal as the customer service and the amazon’s 30-day return period will be more than enough.

Pros

  • Up to 9 hours of continuous lighting
  • A rotatable solar panel that allows you to get the most of sunlight
  • 200 lumens
  • 2 Lighting Modes

Cons

  • IP64, which will only protect from splashing water
  • No warranty, only a 30-day return policy

3. Nekteck Outdoor Solar Powered LED Spot Lights

Nekteck Solar Lights, 2-in-1 Solar Spot Lights Outdoor, Waterproof Solar Powered Landscape Spotlights, Bright and Dark Sensing, Auto On/Off for Yard, Pathway, Garden, Driveway (2 Pack, Warm White)

The 200 lumens Nekteck bright solar lights are another great addition to our best outdoor solar spotlights list, they are top-notch and will surely catch the eyes.

These here are the only solar spot lights that come with a warranty, others offer their dedicated customer service, but it’s always good to have a warranty, just in case, you know.

The 2 lighting modes are really great for switching things up once in a while, but they are also great for suiting one’s needs.

Also, the 10 hours of working time on the Nekteck solar light is more than enough, and you only need to let the solar panel sit in the sun for about 5 hours to fully charge the battery.

The only downfall is that they are not 100% waterproof, while Nekteck might claim it, but going over reviews – and the fact that the IP rating is not included in the product sheet- made it a bit suspicious, so it’s safe to say that they are not 100% waterproof.

Yet, I would still recommend them from my heart, they are top-notch, and if you live in an area that doesn’t get heavy rains, they will be perfect for you.

Pros

  • A 2-year purchase warranty
  • Up to 10 hours of continuous lighting
  • 200 lumens
  • 2 Lighting Modes

Cons

  • Not completely waterproof

4. Claoner 32 LED Solar Landscape Spotlights

Claoner Solar Spot Lights Outdoor, IP65 Waterproof Solar Landscape Spotlights, 2-in-1 Adjustable Wireless Solar Landscape Lights for Yard Backyard Trees House Garden Walkway-32 LED/Cold White(2 Pack)

The superstar of lumens is a title worthy of the Claoner solar led spot light, packed with a whopping 1200 lumens and 3 lighting modes to switch between with a click of a button.

Amazingly, this spotlight can run for up to 25 hours on the low light mode! But what is really great is that they only need about 6 hours of direct sunlight to fully charge.

Another fine addition is that you can install them with a stake to the ground, or you can mount them on walls, they will do any role perfectly, make sure to put them in a place that gets an adequate amount of sunlight to allow the solar panel to generate as much electricity as possible.

Again, I have to mention that they are the brightest solar landscape lights on our list today and they have a waterproof rating of IP65, which is amazing for harsh weather.

In my opinion, the negative point about the Claoner solar led landscape lights is that they don’t offer a warranty, while it’s safe to opt for them if you need such raw power, but I would’ve loved to have a warranty with those.

Pros

  • IP65 water and weatherproof
  • Up to 25 hours of continuous lighting
  • 1200 lumens
  • 3 Lighting Modes

Cons

  • No warranty, only a 30-day return policy

5. InnoGear Solar Powered Landscape Spotlights

InnoGear Solar Lights Outdoor, Upgraded Waterproof Solar Powered Landscape Spotlights 2-in-1 Wall Light Decorative Lighting Auto On/Off for Pathway Garden Patio Yard Driveway Pool, Pack of 4 (White)

The InnoGear solar lights are some of the best lights you can get, they may have some downfalls -that we will mention later- but they still muster enough to rank in our list of the best outdoor solar spotlights for landscapes.

Personally, I’m a fan of the solar panel angle rotation on this model as it may be tedious to get direct sunlight when the light and the panel are attached to the same part.

With an IP65 waterproofing technology, it’s pretty safe to use them in harsh weather and rainy days, as they will protect your lights from powerful water jets not just water splashes like other models on the market.

A good part is that they can run for up to 12 hours, half a day worth of energy that you won’t pay for, the mildly bad part is that you need to charge it for up to 7 hours, the longest charging time on our list of products, but again, 7 hours is a pretty decent number and isn’t a complete deal breaker.

The last thing to mention is that – again- they don’t come with a warranty, I don’t want to sound repetitive about this warranty stuff, but I’m just saying this to make sure you 100% know what are you about to buy.

Again, the lack of a warranty isn’t a big deal, it’s just a favorable act to get one.

Pros

  • IP65 water and weatherproof
  • Up to 12 hours of continuous lighting
  • 200 lumens
  • 2 Lighting Modes

Cons

  • No warranty, only a 30-day return policy

6. Mini 50X Twin Solar-Powered LED SpotLights

Mini 50X Twin Solar-Powered Cast Aluminium Warm White LED Spotlight 60-100 Lumen Per Light Fixture for Outdoor Garden Yard Landscape Downlight

The Mini 50X Twin LED spotlights aren’t only about landscapes, I can imagine them being used all around the house really.

Their small size makes them convenient to be used lavishly around the place, and their ease of installment makes it even more encouraging.

While they may not feel like it, but these small boys make for up to 100 lumens each!

They can run for up to 12 hours, and the fact that they can be placed around the house may put some variation to that number as some places may get less sunlight than the others, thus the solar panels won’t generate as much electricity.

However, the average charging duration for them is about 5 hours, which is more than a good ratio.

Further, they are made fo high-quality material and equipped with an IP55 waterproofing technology making it subtle and optimal for most people.

The only downfall is the warranty, I’m not speaking about this again.

Pros

  • IP55 water and weatherproof
  • Up to 12 hours of continuous lighting
  • 100 lumens each (200 lumens total output)
  • 2 Lighting Modes

Cons

  • No warranty, only a 30-day return policy

7. T-Sunrise LED Solar Spot Light

Solar Landscape Spotlights, T-SUNUS Solar Garden Spot Light IP65 Waterproof 9.8ft Cable, 2000mAh Separated Solar Panel, Auto On/Off for Garden Driveway Pathway Pool Area(Warm White 3000K)

Phew, our last product on the list today is the T-Sunrise solar LED spot lights.

They come in a small size that will fit almost anywhere in the yard and makes them appealing to be used indoors or for deck lighting.

Their warm light makes them soothing and calming to watch, thus making them a great solar spot light for landscape.

They come with IP65 waterproof capabilities, and the running time is about 12 hours, which is pretty nice for their small size.

Another thing to notice is that they come with 30 lumens, which is the lowest on our list making them more of decoration spotlights to give comfy atmospheres.

These calming solar power spot lights come with 2 lighting modes that can be easily switched between.

Yes, the warranty is the only negative point, again.

Pros

  • IP65 water and weatherproof
  • Up to 12 hours of continuous lighting
  • Small size
  • 2 Lighting Modes

Cons

  • 30 lumens output, which makes them more of a landscape solar spotlight
  • No warranty, only a 30-day return policy

How To Choose The Best Solar Spot Lights

When it comes to choosing the best solar spot lights there are a few factors you need to consider.

And in this section, we are going to take a look at those factors so you can make the best decision for your needs.

3. Light Temperature

Another thing you’ll want to consider is the light temperature.

Warm white gives off a more traditional incandescent light bulb look while cool white has a more modern look.

Natural white is somewhere in between the two.

4. Waterproofing

You’ll also want to consider the waterproofing of the solar spot lights.

Some solar spot lights are water-resistant and can work in the winter while others aren’t really.

The waterproof level is determined by the IP rating of the light.

If you live in an area that has a lot of rainfall, you’ll want to choose a solar light with an IP rating of 65 or above, as anything lower than that might not provide you with enough protection and you will need to store your lights over the winter.

5. Ease Of Installation

You’ll also want to consider the ease of installation.

Some solar spot lights come with mounting hardware while others don’t.

If you’re not comfortable installing something yourself, you might want to choose a light that comes with mounting hardware.

6. Solar Panel Efficiency

You’ll also want to consider the solar panel efficiency.

Solar spot lights typically use LED’s as well as a number of other components that require power from the panels.

Having a high efficiency solar panel out in the sun will ensure they run efficiently and you won’t need to replace them as often.

7. Running Time

Typically, solar spot lights will last up to 5-12 hours on a full charge during the night.

So you should take into account how long your lighting needs are as well as where your sun is located in relation to your lights to ensure that they get optimal sunlight throughout the day.
